Tai Chi-Qigong Classes

Our classes in Tai Chi-Qigong movement include gentle, yet aerobic forms of practice known for beneficial physical, mental, and emotional health. This is why these practices are termed as “Medical Qigong”. Articles state that the Harvard Medical School endorsed Qigong and Tai Chi for helping with arthritis, low bone density, breast cancer, heart disease, heart failure, hypertension, Parkinson's disease, sleep problems, and stroke, when combined with medical treatment. Research also shows that Tai Chi (Qigong) can benefit people with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia and other ongoing, painful conditions. Further studies indicate that Tai Chi /Qigong will beneficially impact the health of the heart, bones, nerves, muscles, immune system, and psychological health. Additionally, these movements are found to maintain strength, flexibility and balance in the practitioner. Our classes train students on the internal arts of sensing Qi, gathering Qi, and moving Qi throughout the body, using mind, breath, and motion in synchronicity. This way we learn to consciously open the Qi flow through the meridians and energy gates of the body. With this skill, the Qigong practitioner can develop the ability to heal their body and their being with the power of their mind and breath.
